Villa Della Torre and Palazzo Te: Spazio Te reopens

Spazio Te, the bistro located within the Palazzo Te complex, is reopening, once again becoming a welcoming landmark for visitors and locals alike. Following a public tender, the new management will be led by Villa Della Torre and the Marilisa Allegrini Group.

The reopening of Spazio Te is an important step in Palazzo Te’s ongoing process of opening up to the city. It will be a place to enjoy before, during and after your tour, offering a combination of hospitality, quality and local history. With Villa Della Torre and the Marilisa Allegrini Group, via liaison built up over time and a shared vision, we aim to offer visitors and the public an experience that is fully consistent with the museum’s identity”, says Stefano Baia Curioni, Director of Palazzo Te.

In collaboration with Fondazione Palazzo Te and Studio A.c.M.e., Villa Della Torre has renovated the space to create a venue that welcomes visitors to the museum complex and also serves as a symbolic and functional hub for the entire city, accessible independently of the museum itinerary.

The renovation, with its colors, details and materials, reflects the distinctive style of the partnership that has linked Villa Della Torre to Palazzo Te since 2022. This renewed collaboration is another significant milestone in their joint commitment to promoting local tourism through a form of storytelling that encompasses culture, the local area, and food and wine. To symbolize this collaboration, Spazio Te’s walls display illustrations from Il Gioco del Ramarro (The Green Lizard Game), a reinterpretation of the classic Game of the Goose, designed by artist Flaminia Veronesi and presented in June 2025. Through forty squares, the board game traces an ideal route from Villa Della Torre to Palazzo Te, encountering places and characters from history and mythology along the way. The renovation also encompassed the outdoor garden in the area between the Peschiera (Fish Pond) and the Exedra.

Managing a space within a cultural site such as Palazzo Te comes with an important responsibility: contributing to the overall quality of the visitor experience. The same care and responsibility guided the choices made during the renovation project – a delicate undertaking that was tasked with telling the stories of both Palazzo Te and Villa Della Torre, while also fitting coherently into the layout of the museum. We are opening our doors to tourists and citizens alike with great enthusiasm, aiming to make Spazio Te a lively and functional place. To this end, we are developing a cultural program involving culture-based meetings, tastings and events to engage citizens and enhance the visitor experience”, comments Caterina Sofia Mastella Allegrini, Marketing & Communications Director of the Marilisa Allegrini Group and curator of the Project.

Spazio Te is open daily from 09:00 to 19:00. This welcoming venue is an ideal destination for breakfast, lunch and aperitifs. The menu showcases local produce and traditional dishes from Mantua and Verona. The wine list features all the wines produced by the Marilisa Allegrini Group, including Villa Della Torre and Peaks&Valleys for the Valpolicella, Lugana and Soave appellations, and Poggio Al Tesoro and San Polo for Bolgheri and Montalcino respectively. There is a particular focus on the three labels created in partnership with Palazzo Te: the ‘Camera di Amore e Psiche’ Lugana DOC, the ‘Camera dei Giganti’ Valpolicella Superiore DOC, and the ‘Camera del Sole e della Luna’ Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG. These wines are now joined by an Extra Brut Champagne bearing the partnership logo, which completes the range.

A culture of hospitality, respect for the local area, and a desire to create authentic experiences have always formed the basis of our work. We believe that, as a group, hospitality is the ultimate tool for building customer loyalty – one available to businesses that can generate dialogue and a sense of belonging. Bringing the Villa Della Torre experience to Palazzo Te means investing in a shared vision that focuses on relationships, service quality and Italy’s great beauty. Mantua is a key stop on our Mini Grand Tour, connecting Verona with Bolgheri and Montalcino”, explains Marilisa Allegrini, ‘Cavaliere del Lavoro’ (Order of Merit for Labor) and President of the Allegrini Group.
